St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church in Sitka. Our tour was through the Tlingit Tribal Council. We were they only ones on the tour! Our guide was a tribal elder.

This window took two years to arrive from New York. When it arrived it was the wrong design with a Star of David in the center. Since it took so long to get, the church decided to keep it.

Alaskan Raptor Center. This eagle was injured and one bone didn't heal enough to allow the eagle to fly. He is used to educate.

The cathedral houses many icons and religious objects. When the cathedral burned in 1966 the town raced to save what was inside. One man lifted down the chandelier can carried it out. Later it took three men to lift it up to install it.

Baleen is a sieve-like device that Mysticeti (baleen whales) use to obtain nourishment. It is also called whalebone and used to be used as a plastic-like material. The young man was just entertaining everyone.
