An Alaskan snake - NOT! It is a slug. Guide really got me to jump because I really, really, really dislike snakes. Another reason Alaska is great - no snakes! (Photo courtesy of FH)
A medicinal plant
The opening to the right is the dog's house - Scout is his name. There was a mattress and blankets inside. Notice the flower basket over the door way.
Boarding school - Sitka's main economic boon.
Inactive volcano crowned with clouds.
Sandy beach when the tide is out. Only children get in the water.
The buildling in the background is a fish processing plant. The innards are pumped out in the middle of the water. In the foreground is a yearling eagle. Eagle head's don't become white until they are about three years old.
In the tree there are eagles - look like white ornaments.
