Hoorn is the birthplace of the Dutch mariner William Schouten, who was the first to round Cape Horn; and Abel Tasman who discovered Tasmania.
On Tuesday, we took a walking tour of Hoorn.

Decoration on house - early times used to identify people who lived in house. This house was built in 1618!!

Notice the tilt of the house. These are called "dancing" houses as they are built on sand and move around.

This church is now a museum. A few weeks before we were there, some one broke in to steal everything. Other museums in the area have loaned this museum items.
