Clouds hanging low over a village as we approach Lytteltons outside Christchurch. Progressing into Lyttelton, a very protected harbour. Tugboat available to help as needed. Sea gulls looking for a handout on the balcony partitions. The church on the square. Church steeple which I climbed. The Anglican church on the square in Christchurch was having a flower show. Beautiful wood in this organ - the pipes were many on both sides of the altar. Christ with a crown of thorns. The entire aisle of the church was decorated with flowers and vegetables. There was even creeks with running water. Altar of the church. I climbed the church tower. It was a circular stair case with the last two flights being almost straight up ladder steps - see next picture. Very, very carefully did I trode these steps! Christchurch main square. We visited the market where Debbie bought a beautiful sweater.
