Amazon River - Mission Trip - June 2009
View Options for Pictures

We went to three villages on tributaries of the Amazon River to tell Bazilian children, men, and women about Jesus ; even using balloons as a ministry. Brian, Ryan, Tracy and Olivia presented a play, "The Redeemer", which was incredible to watch - made me cry every time I saw it. We showed the love of Jesus with medical check ups; a pharmacy to dispense medicines; dental care (pulling teeth!); new glasses; hair cutting, nail polishing; and giving treadle sewing machines and clothes to them.

Team building was held pre-trip along with team patience when huge storms that came through Dallas delaying our departure. Our boat was a great place to stay and the food was outstanding. The mighty Amazon River was at 100 year flood stage. We saw lots of animals, plants and foodstuff. We stopped at the town of Parintins while going from village to village. We started and ended our time in Brazil in Manaus. This fabulous team had a great time being His hands and feet! We were treated to incredible sunrises and sunsets most days.
