Ourika Valley in High Atlas Mountain

Ourika River in the Ourika Valley in the High Atlas Mountains. A village on the hillside. One person's house. Camel rides available on side of the road. Our first stop was to visit a Berber home. This is the "living room". The couches are built in around the room then topped with mattress type pillow. Above the entry way was roofed by slats. The cat finds it a cool place to rest. This is the kitchen - a corner in the room. She is cooking on a tagine on charcoal. Stairs to the second floor. Very picturesque. Woven rug with pottery plates used as wall decoration. Wonderful woven holder for plastic baskets. The bath - really a sauna. Visiting a second home. Water wheel in here to bring water up to house level. Entry court to home with store on the left. The water flows along the wall into the kitchen A razor bike for the son.
